Now, I’m rather fond of nice stonework, and I appreciate the value of ornamentation, but to commission one’s own gravestone to be elaborately carved… it’s rather immodest isn’t it?

Still, it’s machine carving by the looks of things (or could it be cast concrete?), so it’s pompous without employing the skilled stonecutter.
