I remember in Chemistry being told that corrosion is like something burning very, very slowly. The analogy always seemed rather poetic to me. I was reminded of it when seeing how the rust on this structure makes it appear to glow red hot. This picture was taken at the spot behind where the wave was cresting in the earlier picture.
