This was taken from the undercliff path just to the east of Brighton Marina. The gate to the path was open, despite it being a construction site. I take this as a refreshing sign that the Oh-So-Benevolent British Nanny State has not yet reached this part of the foreshore and smothered it with restrictive notices and barriers, just in case, you know, you hurt yourself.
I get 150 pictures in total, I head back after a bit, and…
...naturally the gate is chained shut.
A helpful German couple who were passing inform me that the (previously hidden) signs on the gate say, “No Entry” and “This site is under 24 hour CCTV surveillance”
Sigh.
I got out, naturally. The gate wasn’t exactly the most secure thing in the world.
