So yes, it was the longest day today. Well, there it went.

These enormous piles of sand appeared at Black Rock today (or yesterday?) I thought at first they might be something to do with the ice rink Brighton Council want to build there for some unknowable reason. But no. Turns out to be the far more worthwhile World Sand Sculpture 2005 thingy, which I shall most definitely be trolling with camera in hand.

UPDATE: I’m assuming that these are the piles of sand the sculptures will be made out of, as the trucks were still delivering them.
