The excavations and other works being done by Southern Water have altered the profile of this bit of the beach. Combine that with the extremely high winds we’ve had lately and the high tide mark is now just below the lower promenade railings… which is where I found this fella. It must have been there at least four hours (the period between high tide and me taking this picture) so I can’t understand why the seagulls haven’t dealt with it yet.
