I never intended to use this site as a political thing, but…

This is quite important to me. When I was a kid I was bullied without mercy because of my sexuality. Clause 28 had been introduced, which explicitly prevented the “promotion of homosexuality”, and the school claimed this meant they couldn’t prevent homophobic bullying - a lie. The irony was that Clause 28 was meant to protect children. It did the opposite for me.

Today, I see the Freedom Flag flying from the city hall of where I now live - still in the UK, only a little over 10 years later… I can’t express the emotions this arouses. Equality for everyone seems a little more achievable. Unfortunately the guy that came up with Clause 28 and opposed its repeal is now leader of the Conservative Party. Sheesh.
