Sunset on the shortest day. This is the plinth for one of the pointer stones that show the way to the stone circle over the hill (which we didn’t get to.)

We had one of these in our school field, and that one didn’t have its top stone either. Some workman knocked it off because after standing there for a few thousand years it’s clearly going to fall off the very moment a kid goes near it.
