After running a bit short on drive space I’ve shifted my entire photo library to CD backups, and cleared out iPhoto. There were 68,000 files to delete in the end. I’m sure I don’t have 68,000 photos, there must be loads of XML files and stuff made by iPhoto in there. I’ve got loads of space now…
